It’s all hands on beam down at The Bush Tannery, Christmas Hills this week as Josh McLean and I have been excitedly getting ready for our buckskin tanning workshop from Saturday 12 – Sunday 13 November.
During this two day workshop, participants will get to practice all the steps involved in the buckskin tanning process and walk away with half a fully-tanned hide that they have worked in pairs.
Learn how to confidently process, preserve and use skins from farmed, hunted, found or disused mammals for making clothing, bags or ornaments.
It’s going to be epic! 10 goat skins, 12 participants, 4 fleshing beams, 1 bathtub and 2 days of intensive tanning activity while camping at Wominjeka in Christmas Hills, Victoria.
Spots are still available, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to deepen your rewilding and self-sufficiency skills by learning this alchemical process of transforming green skin to wearable, luxuriant fabric.
