le and useful weeds with bushcraft and permaculture guide\, Ei Yang of ReN
ourish ReWild.
Foraging weeds and wild food\; there is no m ore sustainable way to eat. This workshop will get you on your way to conf idently identifying and using wild plants that grow in the Greater Sydney region with tools and techniques that you can use both here and further af ield.
\nFor food\, medicine\, fibre etc. the plant world can offer a cornucopia of uses when you look beyond labels such as “weed”.
\nCo me for some hands-on learning of commonly available wild edibles from the Hawkesbury EarthCare Centre site\, growing food organically for 20 years.

\nBring as much or as little gear as you’d like to use or show off as well as some food to share for lunch.
\nSome suggestions of items to bring might include your fire kits\, unf inished baskets\, field guides\, binoculars\, plant samples for identifica tion\, knife or other carving tools.

Come to this full day workshop and learn the basics of home tanning using all natural ingredients and everyday materials and tools . Leather tanning is one of the most rewarding and useful self sufficiency skills th at can be learned. Using fish skin\, a readily accessible skin\, participa nts will learn how to process their own leather for craft or utility. Part icipants will fillet\, skin and tan their own fish skin while the remainin g fish will be used to prepare lunch.

At this weekend workshop you will learn practical skills of traditional hide tanning that can be done in a home environment using all natural ingredients and everyday materials and tools. You will assist your instructors as they demonstrate each ste p of the process to tan a complete goatskin into soft breathable leather. After practicing on the goat skin\, you will fully tan a rabbit pelt to ta ke home.
\nThis course is run in conjunction with skilled traditiona l tanner Ei Yang\, from Renourish Rewild.
\nIt does take time\, but leather tanning is a personally rewarding and useful self-sufficiency skill.
